Flat Utility Split

How it's calculated

1. Your days = the days you lived in the flat during the billing period. Move-in day and move-out day both count.
2. Away or abroad: the day you leave and the day you come back count as home days. The days in between are not charged.
3. Your share = bill amount × your days ÷ everyone's days added up. Shares are rounded to whole dollars, and the leftover dollars go to the largest fractions, so the shares always add up to the bill exactly.
4. Each bill is split on its own, because water, electricity and gas usually have different billing periods.
